Rock Phase Contents Analysis

Problem solved:
Analysis and classification of mineral phases on the image obtained in transmitted non-polarized light and the series of images obtained in transmitted polarized light with crossed nicols. Every image from the series is obtained from the sample that is rotated on a fixed angle from the previous position.

The following mineral phases are determined:
Silica
Spar
Mica (Muscovite, calcite, biotite)
Cement (siderite)
Fragments of the rocks

Analysis and classification methods:
Image texture analysis
Image color parameters analysis
Analysis of color and texture parameters changes in image series
Image pixels clusterization in the multidimensional space of parameters

Determined parameters:
Area covered with each phase, and its share in the total analyzed area (in %)

The combined report is built basing on the analysis results. Data can be exported to the database.

This solution is ordered separately. Installed SIMAGIS®  platform is required for the solution to function.
