Carbide Net in Alloyed Tool Steel

Problem solved:
The solution determines the content of carbide inclusions and calculates the carbide structure grade.

Solution:
Inclusions of carbides are selected according to brightness characteristics. The solution calculates the volume fraction of the net-forming elongated carbides. The data about volume fraction of elongated carbides is used to determine the structure grade. 

The solution preprocesses images, removes intensity unevenness, and transforms images in binary mode. Carbide inclusions carbides are selected according to brightness characteristics (carbides are bright).  The images are then cleared from the small particles not being the inclusions. Then the pores are filled on the  remaining carbide inclusions, and the required parameters are measured.

Determined parameters:
The solution produces the series of parameters, including the analyzed area, share of carbides, relative share of elongated carbides and the structure grade.

This solution is ordered separately. Installed SIMAGIS®  platform is required for the solution to function.
